Renee Loiz | Makeup Artist

Our #ChroniclesOfQuarantine series continues with LA makeup artist, Renée Loiz. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

NAME: Renée Loiz (@reneeloizmakeup)⁣⁣⁣⁣

WHAT HER IG BIO SAYS ABOUT HER: Makeup Artist⁣⁣⁣⁣

--------------⁣⁣⁣⁣

MJ: Overall, how are you coping with quarantine? ⁣RL: At the start, I was very confused and unsure of what was going on. It was all happening so quickly. As time has gone on, I have been dealing with it relatively well by staying busy with my blog and makeup tutorials. Also, I have a 6-year-old son and am homeschooling with him so that keeps me busy!⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

MJ: What's one thing you're happy you're doing more of now that you have the time? ⁣⁣⁣⁣

RL: I am happy I made a newsletter for my blog and doing makeup tutorials. I haven’t had time but they have stayed on my to-do list years. Now that I am home, I have plenty of time which makes me super happy!⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

MJ: What are the skincare products getting you through? ⁣⁣⁣⁣

RL: I'm loving the @bthreebalm Astraea + Fluorite Rejuvenating Facial Oils. They’re extremely hydrating and help to calm sensitive, stressed skin. I use a couple drops of each morning and night. Another fave is @BlackGirlSunscreen. It goes on like lotion, blends beautifully into skin, and doesn’t leave that weird blue cast!⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

MJ: How will beauty trends change in a post-pandemic world?⁣⁣⁣⁣

RL: Major retail beauty stores and beauty counters are doing away with testers completely and will have to give out more samples to their customers. As far as being on set as a makeup artist, we will need to have individual makeup kits for each client, lots of disposables, and most likely be working one on one with the talent as opposed to everyone working all at once. It will be a challenge I’m sure we all will make mistakes too, but we just all have to have patience and work together so everyone is kept safe and happy in the end.⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

MJ: What one lesson will you take away from this quarantine experience?⁣⁣⁣⁣

RL: Trusting in God that everything will work out. Also, to not look at the past and wish things could go back to how they were. Things will always change and we can either dwell in the past or we can progress and move forward.
